Any thoughts on pic related? Looking to stockpile some whisky before the impending doom we face Nov 4th. Ive got a couple bottles of yamazaki 12 and some nikka single. What are some pol approved upper mid shelf drinks?

The Nikka Coffey Grain is amazing and worth grabbing a couple bottles. As far as scotch goes I love the Laugavulin 16 is my all time favorite. Macallan is okay but I was never a fan of highland scotches, its like they couldn’t decide what they wanted to be so they took all the worst qualities of speyside and islay.

Henry McKenna 10 year single barrel, Colonel Taylor small batch, Jefferson Reserve, and Four Roses Small Batch are all good options for you. I don’t know what you will have available in the UK though. If whatever you pick is too strong for you ask for a big cube (any decent whiskey bar will have them) or just put a single drop of water in it and wait a couple minutes.
