In a statement issued today, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said the bust, valued at over $4.5 million, was done by officers of the Western Division’s Gang Unit during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Port of Spain Division.
The TTPS said officers conducted the exercise between 12:30 pm and 8:30 pm at a building in Port-of-Spain occupied by a man.
The officers searched the building and found three packets containing a quantity of cocaine, which was reportedly in the man's possession.
The officers then searched a vehicle which was parked in the vicinity of the building with a lone male occupant, and reportedly found six more packets of cocaine.
Police said the drugs have a combined weight of 3.3 kilogrammes and an approximate street value of TT$4,555,000.
