https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqzoA3HUnEg , you can tell what they're doing with those voices in the beginning. Reminding you of something similar that you forgot from your early childhood, not even words, just the sound of voices. (what a coincidence, forgetting is a theme in the show)
And most importantly the themes of the show itself. The characters ain't your usual huge eyes, constant grunting, shrill high pitched voice, moe bait shit that weebs like to watch. They're people, seemingly familiar people, that you probably met. The setting seems far removed from your life, yet the situations are still relatable. Coming into new places, looking to apply yourself, figuring out how the world works, fucking up, losing people.
I'll stop textwalling now, but seriously, it's one of TWO animes I recommend to literally everyone, even normies would probably like it.
