I had an ulcer caused by the stress of my extreme autism and no social skills. Alcohol is harsh on the stomache. Its been a couple weeks since it started getting better and stopped having pain, but not sure if I should drink again yet. Should I?

Cut down from drinking everyday to only drinking on weekends because of family history.
I do feel better in the mornings but other than that it's not a huge improvement.
However I'm still drinking bottom shelf because old habits die hard.

Congrats. How did it go? I used to drink every day, never a ton, but I'm trying to cut down to every other day. Worried about getting addicted even though I never drink a lot in a single sitting.

Honestly it went surprisingly well. Obviously I still have some issues falling asleep and the mental cravings but there's no shakes and no pink elephants so I'm thankful for that.
I wish I could just come home and have a glass or two of whiskey before bed but I know that once I start I'm drinking til 4am minimum.
If you can cut down to every other day do that. Just because those sober days do suck but they break up the pattern of coming home from work everyday and hitting the bottle. And once you get into that habit, addiction is coming quick.
