as the person notating an equation, when you have the "x/yz" problem the responsibility is on the person writing it to add parentheses to remove that ambiguity
in other words, if the equation you are creating includes "6/3*2" you are responsible for adding parentheses to clarify the priority, either as "(6/3)*2" or as "6/(3*2)"
so basically, both answers have the potential to be correct because whoever presented the equation is a retard
this is why in computer programming you put all the fucking parentheses in that you need, even if you have to use multiple levels of nesting
