Depression is a sickness like any other and most need help from a professional to get better. If your arm broke you wouldn't hesitate, so why is your brain different?
Another thing I've learned is that even if it feels like life is shit and no one cares, that doesn't mean things really are that way. Accept your feelings but don't take them as a fact.
If you know you shbould get something done but it feels like it's too much, try dividing it into smaller tasks like getting out of bed, taking steps towards the bathroom etc. so you don't get overwhelmed right off the bat.
It's not easy but you're capable of making things better for yourself, even if the progress is slow. It will get better, so don't give up!
