It’s a cultural obligation to know how to drive one here and people still to regularly drive manual, but work cars are more likely to be automatic since it decreases the chance of human error.

For me, rowing through the gears makes driving fun. Driving an automatic, even a hot car with paddles, I don't get the same cheap thrills.

In Germany it's like 90%-95% manuals. I think this is because of a national mindset that makes automatic the lazy choice and god forbid.. a lazy person in Germany that doesn't know how to properly drive? Blasphemy!

I personally prefer manual too.. to me driving just seems less fun when I don't even get to play with the clutch
