Depends on your perception and your choice of words. For a tree, I would use words such as top and bottom instead of beginning and end.

Hmm in retrospect thats how it seems to look... Well it was just a random thought about two ends thing. Being a contrarian i figured that might as well argue that 'stick has two ends' isn't universal.
