no oil, inferior technology after 1940, god awfully manufacturing techniques and counterintelligence, Hitler's steady reshaping of the Wehrmacht to make it inline with nazi ideology thus making it less effective... etc.

not only would Spain not fix any of these problems it would be like adding a second Italy.

If they had joined, they wouldve offered nothing but shitty riflemen infantry, and another several thousand miles of coast line to defend.

I'm not sure about that, they could have helped secure the oil in the Caucasus but that's about it(maybe). but them even joining would be a long shot. the Turks were still recovering economically, politically and culturally from the collapse of the ottoman empire and don't forget the combined population of turkey was 19 million minus ethnic minorities which would be a fifth column for the allies to exploit.

the Turks are really just now putting the ottoman past behind them and truly defining what it means to be Turkish.

All roads and trains lead to Moscow ,sure the Soviets probably wouldn’t have surrendered but it would have been a fucking logistical nightmare . Don’t forget they already had Leningrad surrounded. With Moscow surrounded too the Northern front would collapse . Archangelsk is the next target which then ends lend lease in the north .

Nazi meme goes (supported by historian Suvorov and completely suppressed a subject of discussion in the US and probably Britain) is that the Soviets were planning a wide range offensive and cut all defensive production. Hundreds of amphibious tanks - which Germany didn have - could swim across the English channel. They do 250km easily.

It would have been crippled by joining the war as it wasn't secure enough post civil war to take on food embargoes from the Allies. Hitler did promise food to Franco, but he wasn't sure it was enough and would ruin Spain. As much as he wanted to side with them, he couldn't do so at the risk of destroying Spain.

USSR was woefully unprepared for war in 1941 (they had completely mismanaged their build up, missing tons of officers NCOs etc) and Stalin was literally begging ther germans to not attack when he received some intel about an incoming invasion. He was willing to continue the economic relations (oil etc...)to avoid a war in 1941

Pearl Harbor was provoked. Both presidential choices in 1940 were democrats (one ran as a Republican and was chosen without a primary vote and lost to FDR) and both wanted war.

The media controlled all information the public got in those days; no internet or anything close.

Even so the people elected an anti war congress, that fell in line after the “surprise” at Pearl Harbor.

Germany had less than 500. The Soviets had more tanks than Germany and they had heavy tanks, which Germany introduced only in 1943 or so.

The Soviets didn't prepare for a defense and Hitler struck where it hurts. Were it a Soviet offense, they were planning to finish the job Hitler didn't, to invade Britain via amphibious tanks.

No Stalin would likely avoid a war in 1942 too. Especially if the germans are in the middle east and the Luftwaffe can obliterate the entire soviet oil supply in a few raids
