>>11707026>>11707031Short answer you probably won't fully grasp:
>Ephesians 2:8 8For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God. Slight longer answer:
Old testament/ covenant: You had to live by God's laws, otherwise your sin condemned you. You could be "cleansed" so to speak by a blood sacrifice, but you are still a sinner. Jews ASKED for God's law, thus the old covenant was established.
Also, this is not a graded scale; there is no A- but still pass. It is literally PASS/FAIL. No man could accomplish this, because God is perfect and man is not. This is HIS law, and it's not *just* the 10 commandments. It's all Hebrew law, handed down from Moses.
New Testament/ New Covenant: Christ comes into the world, fulfills the old covenant *FOR* man. While He is alive, He STILL preached the Old Covenant, because the NEW one hasn't been established yet. After his crucifixion and resurrection, BY HIS SACRIFICE the new covenant is established, and it is no longer PASS/FAIL. It is now by grace we are saved, and we are granted this grace by believing/ accepting Christ as our savior.
>tl;dr Read the Bible. Then read it again. Then read it again. Modern churches have lost their way. Pray for guidance, and you'll find it where you least expect it.
