shit, as i was typing this, i just realised i could take him to my hometown for my parents to adopt. they're pensioners now so they have nothing better to do, i'll ask them about it. i know they love animals but they don't usually like taking care of them, but i figure having a pet will give their brains a routine, instead of just them going senile
