Also Kemalist's and Islamist's have been in heated debates for decades and their country has gone through several coup's over the years plus they've had a huge divide between Turks in the Capital and Turks in the rural area since it's inception basically.
This is exuding things like their relations to the rest of the Middle East/Europe, the Kurds, and their version of the dollar (the lira) constantly rising and falling.
Turkey is just really fucking weird OP, I hate that American's are fucking ignorant dumb pieces of shit BUT suggest remaining ignorant in regards to Turkey and Middle Eastern Politics in general unless you intend to do businesses there.
