And this is kinda spoiler so be aware, but Ayin's plan was to give the seed of light to everyone in the city so they can grow their own ego and don't die that easily and be afraid, so that everyone gets a chance to challenge the world... and since it wasn't spread completely and evenly, the invitation only invites those who have received the light during the White Nights and Dark Days
