Also most Okinawan are brown because of sun tanning, they are not genetically brown, however some of Chinese origin may be slightly brown.
The original native Okinawan is a Jomon race, it's found that in fresh birth the skin is rather pale, no different than an Emishi or Ainu.
However because of the area, naturally all adults will become pale if living there in the outside sun.
There are however some people there who are born brown, they are of Chinese origin, in the past the kingdom of Ryukyu (before it was part of the nation of Japan) would trade with Japan and the Chinese, it became a duel tributary of both and Japan used it to trade with China, because China wouldn't trade with anyone who wasn't a tributary, and Japan didn't want to become one.
In this time many Chinese moved to Okinawa and bred in with the natives there, thus there is Chinese DNA in Okinawa of southern Chinese origin generally, southern Chinese are generally born a little brown, they are darker than northern Chinese, Koreans and Japanese.
