Trying to say they're straight implies that you think being straight is a better attribute than being gay, and since you're into something that is straight, you're in the "better" group. Because why else would you feel the need to say that they're straight unless you felt somehow embarrassed and defensive over your gay attribute. But really it doesn't matter anyway, just call it what it is though
