What happens is that excess water is drawn up the base of the stem by capillary action and then when it freezes it bursts through the stem and forms those amazing ice flowers! So for this happen it takes a certain type of plant, it had to rain to night before or at least have lots of water, and then it had to freeze the next morning. Pretty cool stuff.

>>11792090I bet dove hunting is pretty good in Kansas with all those cornfields but that does sound pretty exhausting for rabbits. I don't mind trekking thought thick shit in the woods, since that's actually part of the appeal. Just exploring the area to find new spots feels rewarding. I'm in OK, and I only hunt forested WMAs since I don't know any farmers to get land access.
