>>11840278you know there's no going alongside it, of course. digital assures that everywhere is anywhere and the stated mission of finance right now is to force the billion or so in china and india that profoundly distrust banks because they steal their money, to put their money into fintech, so they can steal their money under the guise of empowerment. some dude in rural india will get access to satellite internet, steal a child, acquire bitcoins from his child porn, turn some of it into plausibly deniable clean fiat, and open a second line of revenue as an advertising success story. the stated goal and roi is all that matters now. if i was to get a loan, which i can't, and start something interesting, i would still be cannibalised or crushed by investment forces. i might be allowed to sell it, but even that's less common now. words are nice, but they don't really change things. you can say you believe when it costs you nothing, but it's just words, right? just words. and that's fine, i used to feed the ducks and swans before they instituted huge fines so they would leave the area and a marina could be constructed for absentee chinese landholders. it felt good for me, and i can't really tell them apart. a duck is a duck. maybe once in awhile i'll identify one and form an illusory mental bond with it, but when it's gone, oh well. always more ducks. i really am nothing.
