You are right, it is a choice. But its also a logical one to make. In past times, society is more sexually loose. With looser definitions of a family unit, people are more free to fuck whoever and whenever they want.
Being straight can be a choice, but it takes work. It takes effort, and plenty of it. I know I would consider it for the right girl, but they are few and far between. My value to society isn't best spent in raising a family. I'm a workaholic and Im addicted to knowledge. Why should I pursue a lifestyle which will take a significant amount of my emotional energy, when I can be complacent with that part of my life at lesser cost to society and myself?
