My pet theory: alt-right types have this hate campaign calling any liberal a ‘cuck’, unmasculine, ‘nu-male’, non-virile, ‘onions boy’, etc etc. To them Trump & Putin = powerful masculinity.
Not exactly a secret that these basement Internet Nazis are hardly the sexiest people in person. All this fascist hyper-masculine imagery is just wish fulfillment. (On an odd side note, most actual hard right leaders are in terrible physical shape - Putin’s the exception and he’s a roid abuser).
