How do you feel about money? Does it mean everything to you? Something nice to have? The root of modern society's problems?

I've always considered myself a frugal person, and dream of saving up to buy a house in the middle of nowhere and live off my own means. Then comparing this to my dad, who's got the typical Asian dad fascination with fortune and wealth. He's a moderate gambler, but also works too hard for his own good. A small part of me kinda resents him for us having such incompatible worldviews, but I wouldn't forgive myself if I couldn't provide him with a decent retirement.
