Trust me. I've been through the same shit.
>>11888436There are countries like Hungary that are better than Russia in general living and politically close to you. But you focusing on Russia like this sounds like you are just escaping your mind which isn't good. You need to sort it out. Go talk to a therapist dude, seriously. Talk about these things there, their job isn't to judge you are make you think otherwise but to help you be more happy and that doesn't equal to being okay with everything. You sound so much like me before I learned few things by actually living and having fun.
And to point out some shit. You can buy alcohol in Finland, actually you can buy younger than in the US, in the US you need to be 21 but in Finland you need to 18 to buy stuff to 21% and once you turn 20 you are free to buy everything. Beer and stuff around 5% is fine for supermarkets but for stronger stuff you go to liquor store. You can't buy alcohol after 9 pm. I feel you, it fucking sucks in my honest opinion and majority also thinks so but you get used to this shit and it doesn't actually hurt you. The laws aren't as strict anymore either. Taxes on alcohol is really high though but that isn't the case for other EU-states. Finland just has its history of corporatism and social democracy (not the degenerate version of it) so things are like this.
EU isn't a nation. It is much less than the federal government of the USA but more than say the UN is. It is mostly about trading and food and product regulations (which are aimed to improve stuff, only actually bad regulation I can think of is GDPR) and some funding for poorer member states.
