>>11924014no hmming needed
>>11924020to be honest the intro classes are absurdly slow anyway. japanese 1 for example covered 3 chapters total, so a whole month dedicated to each when the density was such that chapter 1 is basically just hiragana, katakana, and some basic set phrases like good morning and thank you. japanese 2 is faster but still only covers 5 chapters over the course of 13ish weeks.
for me so far doing 1 chapter every 2 weeks is a super comfortable pace where deadlines don't even really come to mind, so as long as i studied over chrimas break that gave me 5 months to cover 9 chapters which is still under that threshold.
well that's part of the reason i'm so concerned with skipping anyway. all the credits i need are upper division and that stuff is locked behind japanese 4 as a prerequisite so i'm basically stuck taking 1 class at a time until i get to that one
that's the hope. if it doesn't pan out and i end up not being able to skip then it's whatever since this is also the last semester of CS classes i have, so a light japanese load doesn't hurt, but i'd definitely prefer to be able to push forward so hopefully they let me take placement testing and it shows i'm ready for the next class
