>>11956376Because the church I grew up in, attended school at, was baptized at, confirmed at when I was younger is not the same church. I went back 4 years ago to get married there but before that, I'd converted my wife to Lutheran. She went to Bible classes and then was confirmed. Before all of this though, when we were dating, I'd baptized her because it is my duty as a Christian, especially those we love.
Fast forward to her getting confirmed, she did not need to be baptized because the pastor confirmed that anyone can baptize (I know, I read the bible..). Anyway, I married her in that church. Then, we had a kid and baptized him in that church.
Fast forward to 2020, they are bringing in people to talk about racism when this church never had a racism problem.
Then, they implemented mask mandates and required registering to attend.
Fuck that. I will praise God with my family at home. Jesus says where two or more meet in my name, so shall I also be there.
Church is just the place. Congregation makes the church.
Aside from all of that, I don't think I am a Lutheran because protestants protest only certain things from the mother church. Mother church is the roman catholic church. Roman cathlocism uses names of Christianity to replace their gods. So, they aren't really praying to God. They pray to Mary, Peter, etc to pray on behalf of them. I pray to God because Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven.
