>>11965953>>11966004I'll add a couple of other stories that are interesting. First, a few years ago, I was sitting out by my fire pit looking out on the hills behind my property in NW Montana. Coming from the west I saw a bright red light rise up out of the hills and come towards me from the west. As it got closer, it the light appeared to be changing shape and flickering. It got closer and closer, and I could see an orb engulfed in flames. I ran to the house to get my wife so she could see whatever it was, but by the time we got outside, it was gone. Then another appeared. Then another. As they approached, she looked at me and "those are Chinese lanterns". Sure enough, they were. Boy did I feel stupid...
Another story. This far north in the US, it's dark for 15-16 hours a day during the depths of winter. I was driving to work early in the morning in the early 2010s. As I was driving, I saw a green flash to my right. And then, I looked out of my windshields and watched as, south to north, this massive green ball tracked across the sky. It was so bright the inside of my truck was tinted green. It disappeared over the mountains to the north. I later found out a meteor was reported that morning, and it impacted somewhere in northern Canada above the Arctic Circle. Pretty cool.
Final story. Just a few weeks ago during Christmas, I was taking garbage out to the trash can at the edge of my property after sundown. On my way back to the house, I stopped to look up into the sky. The stars were out that night and the air was mostly clear of clouds. Then, from the north (behind me), I red streak appeared heading south. I watched it and it streaked about half way to the horizon when it went behind a small, thick cloud. The cloud glowed red briefly, but whatever it was never emerged from behind the cloud. I didn;t see an explosion, it'll like light of the object just turned off. Probably just a meteor, but another intriguing event.
