my bigger concern is being able to conjure words from more recent chapters when i want them, especially since the practice i do the most is essentially monologuing.

>>11999191well it changes from professor to professor i imagine but i don't submit horrible trash so it's hard to say. the only example i can think of is recently with chem and they didn't give tailored feedback to any submission in that class, just marked the appropriate levels on the rubric
when i graded for CS i basically never said anything other than giving a breakdown of what points were taken off for. if people did well then i assumed they probably didn't need the encouragement and if they were submitting garbage usually it was apparent that they just didn't care which is their problem not mine
in rare cases where people were obviously doing their best but struggling or they left submission comments talking about specific things they were having difficulties with i'd try to point them in the direction of helpful resources
