Depends on which part of Orlando you end up moving to, but no matter where you go you will definitely encounter

The cost of living is decent, but it's getting more expensive by the year. What sort of living arrangements are you looking for? I've lived here for about 4 years now after moving from Ft.Lauderdale, so I can answer any questions you might have!

It has some similarities to cities like Chicago for sure. The heat is not something to overlook though...

The summer starts in April with daily average temps staying around 90 degrees with 110% humidity every single day through to December.

Not to doubt your willingness to tolerate heat, but every single transplant from up north says that and ends up eating their words when they're drenched in sweat walking 100 feet to their car in July

It used to be a real shit hole. It was totally fucked and full of crime, but I went there a couple years ago, and it's become way better. Whites are moving back in and the remaining Puerto Ricans have come up, but it's traffic jam central and there's very little to do. Also, fuck off, we're full!

I've been there a few times so expect a lot of neighborhoods that are hilariously close to strip clubs, churches, gun shops, and alligator petting zoo's all at once.
Also a lot of little lizards running around, they're pretty cool.
Pretty comfy if you like warm humid climates and don't mind occasional windy rain.

Make sure you have a lot of long sleeved but thing breathable clothing preferably the moister wicking kind because you'll want to balance being cool with not getting eaten by mosquitoes.
