Relying on Christ at all levels on your life can work out, Orthodox lands are full of examples peppered all over the 1700 years of this piety. Very unintelligent people, biologically unfortunate you can say - apparently damaged cognitively, who shocked intellectuals, leaders, with their interventions, suggestions and that helped society in many ways or had a good material life - but the connection to all of these is reliance on Christ, we teach that the point of human life is to attain the Holy Spirit, which is the personal presence of God with you.
Also I don't know if you are intelligent or not, you should study philosophy - find a textbook and read few encyclopedic articles about the problems of mind in science and philosophy, see that scientists can't even agree on a definition of intelligence, evolutionary psychologists (a meme anyway) - can't explain the mind, reason capacities and so on... I'm suggesting this, because it might dispel some myths about your capabilities and human consciousness in your head that can only hurt you.
