Is Attack on Titan too violent for kids to watch?
I've been watching AOT with my sister and 2 cousins, their ages are 9, 8 and 7.
I have to translate to them what is being said, which is a bit pain in the ass, but I'm ok, I've seen it a couple of times already.
They love it, but there are some fucked up scenes in this show.
What do you guys think about this?

This, I failed to express myself correctly. There are some violent scenes, like when eren was stabbing that guy several times.
My sister is the oldest one and she's the one that gets a bit creeped out, the boys love it.

Why would kids even need to avoid violence? I don't see what's the problem, it's not like they are going to start killing people tomorrow or something.
Creeping them out is another thing.
You don't want kids to be scared and paranoid.

Its too dark and violent and I personally think children under the age of 10-12 are too impressionable to be exposed to such media.

Not saying you should be only showing them Doraemon or some shit but something within the gray area would be better imo.

I watched Robocop when I was 6 or 7. Easily one of my favorite movies of all time.

For preteens I'd boil the question down to:
Clear hero/villain division, although kids pick things up pretty well.
The hero not needlessly glorifying violence, the villain is free to do it.
No needlessly grotesque scenes. <- I guess this is the problematic one for Attack on Titan.

None of that mattered when I was a kid, seeing Robocop pepper people brought me joy.

It's definitely not good for them, but I don't think it will cause any damage.

Tbh, I showed it to them because I really loved season 2 and I spend lots of time with them. I wanted to have more stuff to talk to them about. I can't avoid them, so I want to have some fun with them, if that makes sense.

That is clear, for now. Season 2 gets a bit questionable. Next seasons will be even more grey.

Eren always talks about killing all the titans and he does get too agressive and pissed.

Indeed it is. However, I think it is appropriate in a way. Titans are eating humans, of course there will be some gore scenes.

I watched and played a lot of shit I wasn't suppoesed to and I turned out fine.
