The marijuana laws in the US make no sense. I can carry up to 2.5 ounces in Maine and nothing will ever happen to me. Carry a couple grams in Texas or Georgia, get thrown in jail like a violent criminal. In florida, carry a gram and you lose your right to vote after being thrown in jail for it.

anyway to answer your question Big Pharma knows it won't be B&'d forever in the states after all most have given up that aspect of the war on drugs so the best Big Pharma can do now is regulate it to hell and hope to control the market in the future.
