Taxation on tips in America is fucked up. I only just really thought about it today, but it really is. Even though the minimum wage rule is not enforced for service jobs, allowing employers to pay 5 dollars an hour to anyone making tips, which usually leads to the majority of a server's money being made through tips, the government still thinks they can act like they deserve a portion of that too? On top of the taxes that come out of your already measly paycheck? How is that not just straight up stealing from people? I understand that we need some taxes. I get that when you buy something or use certain services that there should be taxes taken out. But we've reached a point where you literally can't do a fucking thing involving money without the government getting a cut. It's disgusting.
