There are literal dedicated ASIC mining rigs to mine cryptocurrencies, but wages want to buy 100 Nvidia graphics cards to do 1/10 of the work for 10x the cost. Can someone explain this to me?

Yeah, but I just checked and you can find them on Amazon. Is this some kind of NPC herd mentality thing? Why doesn't NVIDIA point this out whenever they have to address these people buying out their cards?
