There is a lot of infiltration in the church. The only reason satan is infiltrating the catholic church is because it is the one true church on Earth.
However, Jesus Christ promised that the gates of hell will never prevail against it no matter what. The doctrine and magestrium is always true. If the pope wanted to, he can literally speak ex cathedra and say something like "It's not a sin to be gay" and make that church doctrine. But he never does.
Btw ex cathedra is when the pope speaks from St. Peter's chair. When he does this, whatever he says is infallible and MUST be listened to. Yet no matter how bad or lukewarm the current pope is, he never changes the doctrine. What the pope says in some interviews and his opinions on politics don't really matter.
And by the way, Pope Francis has not really said anything that crazy. He said to Trump that we should focus on building bridges instead of walls, and he made some comments on same-sex civil unions. The latter was reportedly said in a documentary. That documentary was directed by a Gay Jewish man by the way, so take that for what you will... They purposely misquote Pope Francis's words a lot.
