When I was bored one time I read about the people in the EU4 portraits on Wikipedia. One of my favourites is the Cossack general Ivan Sirko, pictured here in all his glory. He is considered one of Ukraine's greatest war heroes, having fought for the French in the Thirty Years War and successfully keeping the Ottomans out of Ukraine/Eastern Europe. He's also credited as the author of the rather strongly-worded "Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks" to the Ottoman Sultan, who demanded Cossack lands in spite of grave Ottoman military defeats.
