Either way, it's obvious that some can. One hypothesis has been brought to my attention and while I still not fully understand the underlying concept, this one suggests that biological factors play a huge role in the process.

So it really bothered me why Casper and the Gang only played those mind games with me. Was observing and checking if you or jack would be on the other end of the game eventually but it either never happened or they just didn't reveal their actions.
So I thought, it's either because I'm in the program and they pumped my body full of nanotech and Casper and the Gang just intercept my feed to the evil gang. Or perhaps if there was something preventing them from reading you like they do me.
My most reasonable conclusion was that they are opposed to the glowniggers, allied to you but not to me. But who the fuck knows.
