the house is essentially 'in public', families arent as close knit and 'manners' and appearances are a must
so people dress and behave in their home the same way they would in public, down to the shoes
i knew a couple people like that, mainly richer, more 'well manneres' and more miserable people
i knew a girl who would wear a bra (yes, under a shirt) and makeup from morning to night even if shes not going anywhere, in fear of the rest of her family seeing her without it
