A big issue is also the cheap, radioactive ferts and stuff they use on most tobacco, tobacco being usually less regulated than food products etc, which is why the organic thing is so important..

I've considered quitting, but really I only smoke one or rarely two a day and don't see a reason. My grandma never smoked a day in her life and died of lung cancer when she was 70 or so, meanwhile I have relatives who are heavy smokers still pushing on into their 80s.. I'm not saying there is no correlation, but clearly there are more factors at work here.
