In AOT, there's two things prominent - cycle of hatred and freedom.
Cycle of hatred shall never stop unless you kill the hated ones, and even then the hatred may go invards. If all what you're gonna do is just diminish the numbers and leave some survivors, the cycle shall continue. Eren HAS TO kill every HUMAN outside the Paradis in order to "stop the cycle".
Also, freedom. To be free, to be free of the shackles which may be put on to you since birth. No matter how "free" you may seem, there's always a cage around you and you either live with it, or do something about it.
No one in the world is born free, you must get that freedom yourself.
