In short, postmodernism happened.
Architects are pretentious faggots and hate it when their buildings and styles can be "dated" to a certain period. We're way past needing baroque arches and decorations, you see, these are childish things of the past. So the solution is to create ugly buildings without a clearly definable style, sort of unmooring them from the surrounding reality and time.

Same goes for the actual usability, buildings have transformed to art pieces, functionality and user comfort aren't as important as making an imposing statement.

If you read any literature by modern "architects" they say its intended to be for the globalised world. Consider building a Japanese style house in Australia or Britain, it would be odd and out of place, Brits wouldn't feel totally at ease in it. Now imagine the turd world hordes working desk jobs in some grand western style building. It makes them feel belittled, unaccomplished and displaced. The idea behind modern shit is so that nobody owns the style because its rootless and has zero connection to the past, therefore nobody feels at ease in it more than anyone else. Of course, the result is that everyone is permanently angry and disgusted but most can't articulate why.

And those are usually the ONLY pics you will ever find, there aren't any of them being partially built. Other times they show you partially DEMOLISHED buildings with some scaffolding around it, usually buildings that were destroyed in some war.

This buildings all look the same all around the world and they bear the particularity of being usually made of red brick, look like they're half buried, and like they were made for giants. Giants with an obviously gigantic head cause the IQ you must have to make this buildings is huge.
