>>12339217sure, but still the idea that he "eclipsed" his french by just studying a core 1k is just dumb. it's possible that his classes were some piss easy super slow pace, but he doesn't make it sound like he had an easy time of it or anything so i doubt that's it. i'm also extremely skeptical of the idea that he can "express himself" or whatever with just vocab.
if there's any grain of truth to these things then it's the fact that he's fluent in spanish and spent years apparently grinding french grammar, so he has the knowledge of 3 romance languages to draw from. he even tries to say "oh i started from ZERO italian" as if he's barely better off than a chinese or arabic native learning from scrach when it couldn't be further from the truth.
the map is rarted as well for sure. the idea that you should outline your own goals and can approach topics in a somewhat random ass order instead of using some rigid path to chase an ethereal "fluency" is fine, but that has nothing to do with what he actually shows. if he absolutely HAD to do some video game map bullshit then he should've gone with one of those dumb ubisoft games where you have to progress area by area and do it by filling out a bunch of random fucking tasks however you feel like.
very upsetting to see arguments i believe in be presented so fucking abhorrently
>>12339221these don't make sense lol. despite what people would have you believe many kanji aren't actually pictograms most of the time.
look at the third one, 童 for example. it's just the kanji for stand (立) on top of the kanji for village (里). why stand village could mean child i have no fucking clue, but i can tell you for sure that it's not because it came from tattoo needle eye heavy bag
