I'm usually a lot happier when I distract myself and suppress existential questions.

It's hard to get back into the game when you realize none of it really matters. Baby steps help you get back into the game. But for how long?

I have been miserable and overwhelmed in the past, to the point that suicide was considered. But I will never let myself commit suicide. It wouldn't even bring me relief, just death, and in those last moments I'd still feel terrified at the guilt and sadness I'd leave behind in those who cared and relied in me. I couldn't harm them like that, and it kept me grounded at a minimum. It's not the idea of suicide that hurts, but the idea of knowing who I'd leave behind that would, knowing they now feel despair from being unable to help me at my lowest point, and not knowing or acting quickly enough.

I would have probably killed myself if I knew for a fact it wouldn't cause anybody pain.
I know for a fact how horrible it is to lose people you care about.
And I have family that I know care about me.
I would never want to cause them the pain of losing me.
As shitty of a person I am, I know my death would cause great suffering.

So I find reasons to live.
I have to.

That's damn near exactly my justifications too. I realized that me simply no longer existing wouldn't make other's pain go away, only my own as I cast into oblivion. The harm of others by suicide at minimum meant I couldn't spiral past the point of no return, and from there, with my safety net set in place I dredged myself up again. It took therapy, introspection, a loving relationship, and effort to get to where I am now, but I'd not change it, for it left me a different and more well-adjusted person in the end. I found my own reasons to keep on living. I hope if you don't have any set in stone yet, that you do soon too.
