dc comics wanted a cinematic universe mirroring the success of marvel
however in their corporate greed driven haste to capitalize on an established universe, they forgot to establish a universe first. lackwits like snyder didn't do anything to prevent this at all.

almost in that exact order.
was snyder directing the first two? no but who fucking cares about snyder.
they only released one good movie and it was removed from the wider narrative completely (joker).
other than that before their big pay off movie that was meant to be an answer to marvel's avengers movies (batman vs superman) they had nothing to work with and edited it until it was completely incoherent. no respect for the source material either, first thing batman does is use a gattling gun on people. first thing leto's joker does is turn him into a regular meth addict.
after that kind of damage is already done and they can't rape the characters anymore, they found out 'wow, whoops i guess we're not marvel but we'll keep trying anyway.' that's how you get superman vs batman, that's how you get the dogshit that this next movie looks like. it was already over a long time ago. nobody's going to give a shit about a dc film ever again. they've decided that they're going to shit out more cape drivel into the already full mouths of audiences everywhere around a decade after superhero movies lost their novelty. hopefully dc goes broke. anyway fuck you op
