I live in the downtown core of a small European city. A lot of the old town is full of 16th-century buildings, and they are beautiful. I have a nice walk along the river and a canal on my way to work. And if I don’t want to walk, I can take the streetcar because public transit is a thing.
You have no idea how high the quality of life is in Europe.

That's nice for Americans I suppose, but I live in Europe and I bought a nice apartment in a big city, own a nice and save money every single month and I never feel like I don't make enough money to live a good life. I make an average salary and I have like 3-4 years of experience and I love living in Europe, it's unironically the peak of comfy, culture and human civilisation. Of course someone now is going to say that "America is better" but I honestly can't imagine how either one is better or worse than the other besides personal preference.

I graduated college in America with $25k of debt. Immediately got a shitty junior programming job with a $70k salary and paid off my entire debt within a few months. It's been about three years since then and I'm now making over twice that.

The salary difference isn't that fucking big where something is completely unaffordable to you in the EU is suddenly "within reach" in the US. Even if you make 150-200k a year, that's the equivalent for making like 70-90k a year in places like London, Frankfurt, Munic, Paris. The only places that pay this much are high cost of living places.

End of the day you MIGHT end up having a few hundred more than someone who works in Europe.

I can buy a house with 30 acres of land within commuting distance from several small cities for $300k or less in the US.

I really suggest you reconsider because I can 100% guarantee you that's you're living in a LARP fantasy, living in Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania is not as good as you imagine it to be. It's okay, there's nothing bad about it, but it's definitely not a good career move and living there isn't as high quality as you think. You can move there for a year with just english, work there for a year and I can almost guarantee you that after the year is over you will have nothing more to do there and will want to move to a big western european city to do something fun and get a better job and escape the brutal winters.

Honestly work in the US, you can hop from startup to startup and get good cash. Most of them are pump and dump anyway, so make a good salary, get laid off with big benifits, then just move somewhere else.

So can Europeans, houses outside of big cities are affordable af. They cost like 200-300k euros in Germany, which is very affordable when you only need like 20-30% of the total cost to get the mortgage. And this is for a NICE house in Germany, you could get them for a lot cheaper in Italy, France, Spain, Scandinavia, Central/Eastern europe etc.
