screamo doesn't have to be cheesy. it's so much deeper than that, it's a great way to express anger and discontent

Oh I know, and I get why people like it. My brother and his friends were really into it and some of them even started a band and played shows. I was just never really into the screaming aspect, but when they sing soft it sounds nice.

just can't get into it huh? i can understand that, soft vocals and metal go really well together.

some 'screamo' bands have a couple of songs with only soft vocals, and they're always so good

can have great guitar work, otherwise fantastic song

then a guy starts howling like he's shitting a pine cone, doesn't fit the tone of the rest of the song, and ruins it instantly. ordinary melodic vocals would compliment a song just about every time, "RROEEORERERJHKEWREWRHEWHKREW" is just some weird trend to impress other death metal spergs with how low they go

have you heard of melodic death metal? it's not like stereotypical screamo, i'd say even the harsh vocals have a place

there's this band called Dead by April, their album Incomparable does this really well
