Caffeine is a drug marketed towards children. It could be argued that sugar is equally addictive. Consumption of "soda", or "pop" is one of the major contributing factors when it comes to obesity and type II diabetes, two ailments which result in very much loss of life in our country.

Tobacco consumption is the direct cause of 1/5 deaths in the US.

Alcohol consumption causes 88,000 deaths, in the US alone, annually.

Roughly 70% of all homicides are committed with a firearm, resulting in approximately 75 thousand deaths per year, in the US alone.

Why do we allow these industries to thrive when the statistics blatantly prove that their success results in the loss of life? Are we really so weak, as a nation, that we collapse under the pressure of lobbyists? Are we really honestly unphased by it, or do the majority of Americans simply deny the facts?

Just looking for any input from my fellow burgers. This shit is literally killing us, and they are THRIVING. I feel insane. :(
