as for fahrenheit, who cares about water, let's again think on the human scale. 0 and 100 would represent pretty good imaginable environmental extremes
0 degrees fahrenheit is pretty cold for a person to feel and 100 degrees is pretty hot for an ambient temperature. compare that to celsius where the same temperatures would be about -18 and 38. not very intuitive for ambient temperature.
btw the rest of the world SUCKS and is GAY so that doesn't convince me to use metric (gay french secular scientism atheist units) either
