Maybe its because I've only met college educated hindus and Brahmin priestesses, but I've found your religion to be, bar none, the least objectionable. Yes, even better than Buddhism. To be fair, never had anyone flip their shit I was eating beef at me- which would probably happen in actual India rather than here stateside.
But I also know statistics that show India is the most helpful nation. Like 80% of Indians will stop and help you if you are in distress. That's fucking absurd to the rest of the world. Like maybe 12% of Americans would do that in a nice part of the country. New York? -100% will stop to help you. And holy hell, in Beijing its even worse.
You don't take shit from Muslims. But you tolerate and embrace every other religion. You have badass Sikhs and Gurkhas and shit.
Yeah, you're still fairly corrupt- especially around Bollywood- but you're not as bad as China or even Russia. And somehow I think the genuine piety of some of your government officials may be because of that.
Maybe I'm too optimistic, but whatever's wrong with your country, somehow I don't think its the abundance of spirituality. Though I'm really curious as to why you think so.
