I feel a lot of that, but I'd still say my best skills are oratorical and reason based, kind of regret my choice of subject at university if I'm being honest. STEM is so dreadfully fucking boring. I still prefer just reading books to all the formulaic work I have to do now
Memorizing facts about stuff you like is fine anyways as long as you're able to understand and internalised their meaning. That's all there is to knowledge. Then being smart is the ability to use that information to solve problems. So as long as you can solve problems given the situation is related to your interest I'd say there's no reason to put yourself down
