I just smoke pipes at home and sometimes when I go out for a drink. And honestly, pipes are great for a night out. You can pack it at home and get a solid hour of smoking out of it. You just put your thumb over over the opening when you go in to buy another drink, you can put it in your pocket when you're traveling or inside, or when you don't want to smoke and it tastes great.
If I take a pipe with me, 'm not going out with tweed jackets and a Dunhill White Spot. It's just a way to enjoy nice tobacco and it's cheaper than cigarettes too. You can get a tin of nice tobacco for about 13 quid and that will last you for a month the way I smoke it which is the reason I started smoking a pipe because I wanted a nice smoke but cigars were too pricey. Honestly, I'd recommend it to anyone who likes smoking.
Anyway, when people are going around puffing on neon-green massive brick-battery vapes, a small billiard oesn't stand out that much.
