If you cannot sleep, don't drink/take pills/fap yourself to sleep unless it's /that/ bad.
Instead, do what I've dubbed heart-breath synchronization. I have NO idea where I read this - might've even been some esoteric forum back when I was into lucid dreaming - but it works.
The trick is simple.
Assume a comfortable position.
Wait until you can feel your heart in your chest.
Now inhale for an even number of beats, hold for a shorter even number of beats and exhale for an even number of breaths longer than the inhale.
Repeat.
As your heart slows down, you will obviously want to adjust your beat to breath ratio accordingly.
This works primarily by forcing your attention inwards as well as laying the groundwork for establishing quasi-conscious control over your nervous system. I used to be capable of slowing down my heart quite a bit through this method, though the 'key' can get lost if you don't practice.
There are other methods to relax on command, but most of them involve YEARS if not DECADES of meditation by simply forcing you to attain a generalized higher level of awareness.
This method on the other hand strips otu most of the extraneous stuff and focuses on the core techniques.
