>>12577449I first came to /bant/ back in 2017 because I liked Polandball memes and thought /bant/ was gonna be like that. During the first two years, I mostly posted lolis because this was a red board and it was a lot more difficult to get banned for it here than it would be on /a/. Then I took a break for a while from this place because first I started getting into literature, so I browsed /lit/ for book discussions, then then I got in the mood for learning Japanese after I saw lots of people over there saying they were learning a foreign language. Somebody somewhere said /jp/djt was a good place to go for language learning advice and tips on learning Japanese, so I stayed there for a while until I ended up realizing there was nothing good there and that the only tips people there have to give is to use the dictionary and Google stuff when in doubt.
In 2019-2020, I mostly spent time by myself reading visual novels/manga on my own, and occasionally posted on /jp/, almost exclusively for the sake of sharing amusing-looking passages and illustrations from stuff I was reading.
I ended up coming back here last year after hopping through a bunch of boards and realizing that practically all of 4chan is pretty dull and boring, and that there are no places where people are really motivated or earnestly looking to share fun stuff with others.
tl;dr I came back here just because I didn't have any place to go.
